PRN Medical Assistant - Texas
Classification: Hourly – PRN

A PRN Medical Assistant will perform patient screenings as part of preventive wellness exams. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; must have excellent computer, communication and detail skills, as well as the ability to be positive, self-directed and independent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Enter and maintain accurate electronic patient records.
· Ensure patient rooms are clean, sterilized, safe, organized with adequate supplies and well-functioning equipment.
· Complete forms and requisitions.
· Perform patient screenings, including a wide array of diagnostic testing (training provided).
· Communicate with diverse patients, to help each understand the screening process in a way that makes patients feel at ease.

• Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges in relation to the regular use of an ultrasound machine.
• Completed externship with vascular focus.

JOB SUMMARY: We are searching for a PRN Ultrasound Technician to cover as needed in our medical clinics; a team member who will be cross trained in our environment, to perform administrative and clinical duties. A PRN Ultrasound Technician will perform echocardiographic exams, diagnostic screening of all arterial and venous, upper, and lower extremities and diagnostic screening of thyroid, aorta, and renal exams. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; must have excellent computer, communication and detail skills, as well as the ability to be positive, self-directed and independent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Enter and maintain accurate electronic patient records.
· Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
· Ensure patient rooms are clean, sterilized, safe, organized with adequate supplies and well-functioning equipment.
· Complete forms and requisitions.
· Perform patient screenings, including a wide array of diagnostic testing (training provided). · Communicate with diverse patients, to help each understand the screening process in a way that makes patients feel at ease.
· Deliver compassionate patient care and customer satisfaction.
· Maintain the standards of the clinical practice.
· Accountability and attention to detail is essential when handling and documenting important medical information.
· Review images before sending to the physician to ensure a clear image of the area requested.
· Use ethical judgment and critical thinking skills to perform diagnostic imaging safely.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain professional conduct and appearance in workplace settings.
· Complete other assigned duties as designated by the Manager, Director, or Founding Partner.

· None.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Work performed in an office/clinical setting.
· Subject to long and irregular hours.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
· Physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position.
· Regularly required to sit, bend, reach and move about facilities.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Registered Vascular Technician, or Vascular Ultrasound Technician graduate from an accredited school program for medical ultrasound sonography.
• Experience in scanning carotid, thyroid, renal, and aorta arteries and have the experience to perform echocardiographic exams.
• Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges in relation to the regular use of an ultrasound machine.
• Completed externship with vascular focus.
• Experience working in a team environment within a medical setting
